The 10×4.50-5 tubeless slick tire for the MotoTec Drifter 48 Volt Electric Drift Trike is what allows the rear end of the trike to drift and spin and gyrate in wild abandon. This rubber beauty is in the tubeless pneumatic category, so you never need to fret about patching an inner tube.
An interesting feature of the drift trike tire is that it is very easy to fit with a drift sleeve. There are even a series of small indentations around the flat to provide the sleeves “teeth” a better grip. Just deflate the tire a bit, slip on the sleeve, and then bring the air pressure back up to its normal PSI.
In addition to the MotoTec Drifter, the 10×4.50-5 slick tire may be found on a number of racing-style go-karts. Similar to the slicks used on full-size drag racing machines, a slick treadless tire produces far less traction (rubber-to-road resistance), hence more velocity (i.e., a faster speed).
